With the Internet being as big as it is, one would imagine the weight would be astronomical and could not possibly be calculated. Is it even possible to weigh a virtual network that isn’t tangible?
Man, that blew my mind. I’m not gonna lie.
I did some research. Finding this number is incredibly difficult, so I had to make some assumptions and wild guesses. But, if we use the minimum number of electrons that it would take to contain the last estimated size of the internet, it could weigh up to 0.00282 grams. To put that in perspective, that’s about 471620274 times more massive than a strand of human DNA, or 1/30th the mass of a flea. Whichever you prefer.
